oneMen supports small-scale projects

oneMen is a Dutch charity which raises funds for pioneers in Asia, Africa and Latin America. We use this money to support their work by providing means of communication and transport. Because we choose to support small-scale projects, the assistance we provide is direct and relatively significant. However small scale also means that these projects are often overlooked by governments and major aid organisations. Your support is therefore vital.

MIVA history

oneMen is an initiative of MIVA, a Dutch charity which has been striving to improve the rights and well-being of people in developing countries for more than 70 years. Originally MIVA for the most part supported missionaries and their colleagues. Today we mainly focus upon local pioneers who, regardless of their religious convictions, stand up for justice and fight against poverty.

We were looking for a way to draw wider attention to these pioneers who were working on a very small scale. The internet has turned out to be the answer. The oneMen website was launched in April 2001 to raise funds for the work of these pioneers.

This website gives them a voice and a chance to communicate directly with us all. We hope you will support them so that they can continue their groundbreaking work

CBF approved

MIVA/oneMen has been awarded the official quality mark of the Dutch Central Bureau for Fundraising (CBF). This is only given to those charitable organisations which raise and spend funds in a responsible way. One of the key conditions is that at least 75 per cent of the money raised goes to the charity's beneficiaries. MIVA/oneMen more than meets that requirement.
For more information, visit the CBF website or that of the Dutch Association of Fundraising Organisations, VFI and the Dutch organisation of beneficiaries (www.donateursvereniging.nl). Note that these sites are in Dutch only.
